When You Pray

Passage: Luke 11:1-4
Service Type:

Bible Text: Luke 11:1-4 | Preacher: Rev. Dr. Louis Saldiveri | Series: Sunday Morning Worship | Intro: There is a very simple question I would like to ask this morning. Do you and I believe in the power of prayer? Let me clarify the question even more. Do you and I believe in the power of personal prayer and corporate prayer? Please answer this question honestly. I believe that prayer is one of the most misunderstood privileges we have.
First of all. let me say that there are many different styles of praying. Second, let me say that prayer should never be taken for granted or taken lightly. Third, I believe too many professing Christ followers choose to neglect prayer.
In this passage, Dr. Luke record’s Jesus teaching on prayer. If you look at the beginning of the passage, the disciples decided to come to the best teacher and practitioner of pray and asked Him to teach them how to pray.
Over the years, I have profited from Martin Lloyd Jones’ and Dr. Haddon Robinson’s work on this passage. So, let us together explore this passage to see what Jesus would teach us about pray today.
