When People Refuse to Receive Jesus!” Mark 3:22-35
In this day and age of religious, cultural, and political pressures, the presence of Jesus and the Word of God presents an issue. When Jesus and the gospel and the Word are confronting our sinful hearts that are bent on ignoring and rebelling against God, there arises the real and tragic possibility of blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. The Bible calls this the unpardonable sin. Interestingly, the Bible calls this sin the only unpardonable sin.
The Person and work of Jesus Christ and the Word of God bring all people to questions that must and will be answered by all: Is Jesus the Son of God and the Messiah? Does Jesus really mean what He says? If the answers to those questions are “no”, then we will be in a position to ultimately commit the unpardonable sin and reject Christ as Lord and Savior and die without Him.
