“We All Need a Savior!” Isa. 43

March 1, 2026

Book: Isaiah

When a swimmer is in the ocean, caught in a rip current, that swimmer needs a savior, a lifeguard. Many years ago, a young girl, Jessica McLure, fell into a well shaft and got stuck. There was nothing she could do to get herself out of trouble. It took a team of people to come to her rescue. They were her savior.

Do you know that everyone who has been born since the fall of Adam is in trouble? We inherit Adam’s sin nature, and we rebel against God. This causes a terminal problem for everyone. We are trapped and chained by our own sin, which will cause us to be spiritually dead and to spend an eternity apart from God in a place called hell.

The difference between the swimmer and Jessica McLure is that the swimmer knew they were in trouble and needed a Savior, whereas people entrapped by sin do not. Our pride and arrogance stand in the way of people recognizing their need for a Savior. This is the worst situation of all. In other words, we all need a Savior!

Jesus is ready to rescue anyone who comes to Him by faith. He is the rescuer and the solution for our terminal disease of sin.
