Many of us have faced situations in life that seem insurmountable. How should a Christ follower handle these situations when they arise? Do we blame other people? Do we try to handle this situation on our own, trusting other people? Should we ignore the problem and hope it goes away on its own?

Isaiah 37 provides clear guidelines on how to handle a crisis that appears dire or insurmountable. Let’s recap the problem with the threat from the king of Assyria to King Hezekiah. The king of Assyria, a powerful and ruthless ruler, had sent a threatening message to King Hezekiah, warning him of his impending destruction. This was a crisis of epic proportions, one that seemed insurmountable.
