Some people in the church might question why I chose to go back to Genesis to preach and teach it. The answer is very simple. If we understand Genesis well, we will understand the rest of the Bible well. Genesis provides us with foundational truths upon which the rest of Scripture builds. Thus, ignoring Genesis is like a builder erecting a skyscraper on a weak, inadequate foundation. It will ultimately collapse.
Today, we will investigate the first verse of Genesis to understand foundational truths that are imperative.
