In Genesis 3:1-7, we find the account of Adam’s fall from grace. The Devil, the great counterfeiter, imitator, deceiver, and adversary, planted doubt in the mind of Eve first via a theological question. Does God mean what He says? Perhaps God doesn’t want you to be like Him or greater than Him? Both Adam and Eve believed the lie, and it resulted in disaster not only for them but for all of humanity and the universe.
There is nothing new under the sun. Satan still works the same way. We are faced with a choice of believing the truth of Scripture or the lie of Satan. This is precisely what happened in the church of Thessalonica.
