There is a commercial on television with a man who asks different people, “How is your heart?” Most people say their heart is fine, but how do they really know that? From a biblical point of view, this same question must be asked of people, but framed a bit differently. The key question is, how is your spiritual heart? Of course, the follow-up to a person’s response needs to be: “How do you know?”
This question is difficult for us to answer accurately and objectively because we tend to assume we are all spiritually okay. Well, the universe’s best spiritual cardiologist is Jesus. He presents a parable to help us arrive at a correct diagnosis.
