“Only Jesus Can Forgive Sin!” Mark 2:1-12
There are many misconceptions about sin and forgiveness. Many people believe that if they are a “good person,” God must forgive their sins. There are some people who believe that the Bible’s definition of sin is antiquated and have redefined the definition according to the culture and its laws. For example, a couple living together out of wedlock isn’t a sin, or in states where prostitution is legal, it is not a sin. There are too many people who believe that God doesn’t exist and the Bible is just man’s opinion. I am sure I haven’t mentioned all the misconceptions about sin and forgiveness, but you get the idea.
In this passage, Mark tells us about Jesus, His preaching, the crowd, and a paralyzed man with four friends. We learn much about Jesus, His view of faith, His forgiving of sin, and the arrogance of the religious leaders.
