There are major differences between the world’s view of power and authority and the Biblical view of the power and authority of Jesus. The world’s understanding of power and authority is based on a person’s economic and political standing, and on the strength and force conferred by their position. Explain political and economic capital. Explain authority based upon law and force. There are also abuses of each kind of authority and power.
The world cannot understand Jesus’ power and authority. The rulers refuse to acknowledge or submit to Jesus’ power and authority. The religious authorities would not understand Jesus’ power and authority.
